I received the 13th opus of Tigerbeat's sublabel called Tigerbass yesterday, and I can't say that this electro club bangers by Boys Noize and AC Slater are my cup of tea, but that song put a smile on my face. And I know it will do the same thing to an audience full of baseball caps, so why not sharing it? Dolby-Anol are coming out of Glasgow and this is from their I'm dry remix EP.

BOOMBOXX la semaine prochaine! Invités Uproot Andy & Radio Radio(dj set)

Boomboxx revient la fin de semaine prochaine à Québec d'abord, le vendredi 20 février, toujours au Cercle, et à Montréal ensuite, le samedi 21 février (voir flyer). Ce mois-ci mon invité est Uproot Andy de NY, qui nous a offert l'une des mixtapes les plus rafraîchissante de 2008, avec des remixes personnels, dynamiques et uniques de musiques de partout dans le monde. Découvert et signé par Bonsound à Pop Montréal 2007, ce groupe a livré l'un des meilleurs album de Hip-hop de l'année. Les deux hommes en charge des beats et des effets sont déjà venus faire un dj set à Masala il y a quelques mois (bientôt remis en ligne)

BOOMBOXX SOUND #1 / BOOMBOXX party & Zuzuka Poderosa,

BOOMBOXX returns this week-end! After the awesome party we got with dj /Rupture and Master G from Heatwave last month, I'm super excited to have two guest from New York City representing the Baile Funk scene: Zuzuka Poderosa with her sexy and infectius live set alongside dj Comrade with his great mix of Funk carioca, electro and hip-hop! In Montreal, JP Emond aka dj Masala will be back with 1h30 of african sound! And last but not least, this will also be the first time (and not the last) that BOOMBOXX is happening in Québec City as well as in Montreal. That being said, if you're in town you got to come to this party and in order to convince you, I just cooked a little mix that would give you an idea of what to expect:

Après l'excellente soirée que nous avons eu le mois dernier avec dj /Rupture et Master G de Heatwave, je suis super content de recevoir deux invités de New York qui représente la scène Baile Funk: Zuzuka Poderosa avec son live sexy et fun, ainsi que dj Comrade avec ses mixes qui mélangen habilement funk carioca, electro et hip-hop. A Montréal, JP Emond alias dj Masala ouvrira la soirée avec 1h30 de sons africains! Et enfin, pour la première fois (et pas la dernière), BOOMBOXX aura lieu à Québec le vendredi en plus de Montréal le samedi. Baile MTL n'est plus, du moins pour un temps, car je lance mes soirées mensuelles Boomboxx au Zoobizarre dés jeudi avec la venue exceptionelle de DJ /Rupture. Vous savez que ça va être excellent et qu'il ne faut pas rater ça, donc je m'abstiens de plus de commentaires. Infos sur le flyer.
Baile MTL is dead, or at least asleep for a bit, because I'm launching my new monthly night at Zoobizarre called Boomboxx as soon as this thursday, and with no one than DJ /Rupture!
